NOTICE OF REQUEST FOR WRITTEN PUBLIC COMMENT
Notice is hereby given that the Health, Educational and Housing Facility Board of the City of Memphis, Tennessee (the “Board”) is hereby affording an opportunity to all interested parties to provide written public comment regarding the revised delegation of authority granted to the Board in connection with its payment in lieu of ad valorem tax program (“PILOT Program”) as set forth in the resolution captioned “RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MEMPHIS, TENNESSEE MODIFYING ITS DELGATION OF AUTHORITY GRANTED TO THE HEALTH, EDUCATIONAL AND HOUSING FACILITY BOARD OF THE CITY OF MEMPHIS TO NEGOTIATE AND ENTER INTO AGREEMENTS IN CONNECTION WITH PAYMENTS IN LIEU OF AD VALOREM TAXES AND APPROVING THE TERM, AND METHOD OF VALUATION OF PAYMENTS IN LIEU OF AD VALOREM TAXES”, adopted by the City Council of Memphis, Tennessee on August 28, 2018 (the “Resolution”). A complete copy of the Resolution can be found on the Board’s website at: www.memphishefh.com. In general, the Resolution authorizes the Board to modify the eligibility, criterion, term, oversight and compliance authority of the Board regarding the administration of its PILOT Program.
The public, written comment period will commence on November 9, 2018 and will end at the close of business on November 30, 2018. Please compose all written comments on your letterhead, addressed to Martin Edwards, Jr, Executive Director and mail to 65 Union Avenue, Suite 1120, Memphis, Tennessee 38103; or transmit via email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject line: “RE: City of Memphis Resolution Comments”. At the end of the written public comment period, the Board will take into consideration all responses as the Board finalizes its revised policies, procedures and compliance tools for all new and existing PILOTs in compliance with the Resolution.
